Statement of Faith — Glorious Church of Christ Ministries
Let the Cross be the Denominator
We hold the cross of Jesus Christ as the ultimate measure of truth, love, power, and ministry. Every doctrine we confess, every practice we pursue, and every life we shepherd is interpreted and applied through the saving, reconciling, and renewing work of Christ on the cross.
1. The Holy Scriptures — read through the cross
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God and must be read and applied through the lens of the cross. The Old and New Testaments point to the redeeming work of Christ and guide the Church in repentance, faith, and obedience. (2 Timothy 3:16–17; Hebrews 4:12)
2. The One True God — Father, Son, and Spirit revealed in the Cross
We believe in one God in three Persons. In the cross we see the Father’s justice and mercy, the Son’s substitutionary love, and the Spirit’s power to apply redemption to sinners. The Trinity’s work is summed up in the redemption accomplished at Calvary. (John 3:16; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
3. Jesus Christ — Centered on the Cross
We believe Jesus is fully God and fully man whose life, death, and resurrection are the single, decisive act of our salvation. The cross reveals His love, atonement, and victory over sin and death. We preach Christ crucified as the foundation of hope. (1 Corinthians 1:18; Philippians 2:5–11)
4. The Holy Spirit — Applying the Cross to Lives
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, indwells, and empowers believers to live from the reality of the cross — dying to sin and rising to newness of life. Spiritual gifts are given to build a cross-shaped, servant church. (John 16:8; Romans 8:10–11; Galatians 2:20)
5. Salvation — by the Cross alone
We affirm salvation is entirely by grace through faith in Christ’s finished work on the cross. It is not earned by human effort but received through repentance and trust in Jesus’ atoning sacrifice. The cross is the only basis of justification and reconciliation with God. (Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 3:24–25)
6. The Church — a cross-centered community
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, called to embody the cross: humble service, mutual bearing of burdens, sacrificial love, and proclamation of the gospel. All ministry decisions and structures must be tested by how faithfully they reflect Christ’s cross-shaped leadership. (Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:42–47; Philippians 2:1–8)
7. Ordinances — Baptism and the Lord’s Supper through the cross
We observe Baptism and the Lord’s Supper as visible signs that point back to the cross. Baptism symbolizes union with Christ in His death and resurrection; the Lord’s Supper remembers the body broken and the blood shed until He returns. These ordinances orient us repeatedly to the cross. (Romans 6:3–5; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26)
8. Christian Living — cruciform discipleship
We call people to cruciform lives: self-denial, love for enemies, justice for the oppressed, integrity, and holiness — all empowered by the crucified and risen Christ. Our witness is a life where the cross reshapes priorities, relationships, and service. (Galatians 5:22–24; Matthew 5:10–12)
9. The Last Things — victory rooted in the Cross
We confess Christ’s return, the resurrection of the dead, and final judgment. The cross secures the believer’s hope: Christ’s victory over death guarantees final restoration and the consummation of God’s kingdom. (1 Corinthians 15:20–22; Revelation 21:1–5)
10. Mission — proclaim the Cross to all nations
Our mission is to proclaim the gospel of Christ crucified and risen, making disciples who live and serve under the authority of the Cross. Evangelism, justice, mercy, and discipleship flow from the cross and point people to the Redeemer. (Matthew 28:18–20; Mark 16:15)
